Here's some airgun background using 2 shades of blue and 1 violet. I get the dark edges by tearing a piece of cardstock, rubbing a pen over it and then using blender to soften the line. I think I like that airgun. And the sky really does look like this when there's a storm coming off the ocean.
Oh my goodness - I haven't posted since May 27th. Yikes! Well to atone for my sins here are some new pictures which will be postcards for my new store (maybe open mid June - small store, maybe size of phone booth). The ladies below are also store postcards. And I used my new copic air brush thingee. It's not a real air brush - the pen fits into a nozzle which is attached to a can of compressed air. But it's still a neat little thing. I'm off now to answer comments and visit some on line friends.

I used my copic pens for this with lots blender and I like how it worked on the hat - nice and blotchy. The skin could be blended better - this is my first try. And she's actually a drawing of a doll I saw in a magazine. It's 5x7.
I can't get these to scan well - maybe it's all the white background? Guess I have to work on my adobe skills. Anyway - boy in a box with blue hair and boy floating on leaves.
One more twig 'n berries and remember - this is serious stuff here. And come by tomorrow - they'll be lots and lots of portraits. Serious withdrawal not having done any in a week.
Well, let's see who is going to get the blame for these. Well of course your first thought is detlef and you're right - he did say do some more figure studies. But mindy is also to partially to blame and she should own up to it. She pointed me to alison cardinale's site. And some of her style reminded me that I have been sadly neglecting twig 'n berries of late. And I haven't done any portraits since last week. So, here's 3 portraits (4 if you include my hand), 6 twig 'n berries, a hand study and 2 relatively normal animals.
