Dissolve the floors of memory

I like text in drawings though I don't do it often.  It gives texture, form as it wraps it's way across the paper.  Words can free you or hold you tight.  6x8, copic on cardstock.

Blind Contour #9

No this is not a BC of a Picasso.  This is a blind contour of Niff's blind contour of Sutter.  And Karen had a great idea of a round robin of blind contours.  I forgot that Sutter had drawn a bc of Niff's bc of him.  Maybe next week, someone will draw my bc of Niff's bc of Sutter's bc of Niff.  It's endless - who knows what we'd wind up with, like the telephone game.

Here but Where?

Do I have a style?  I don't know sometimes.  I seem to change with every drawing I see, every book I read.  Is that better then doing the same thing again and again?  I don't now.  I guess I'm tired tonight.  The one on the left is Lemony, couldn't think of name for this seated man.

 

Quickies for my postcard group

I belong to a postcard exchange group and send out 5 cards a month - just 5 .  You'd think with all the cards I do, I'd have them ready and waiting.  Never happened. I don't know what got into to me but this time I actually have Oct's ready early.  They're more in the ATC style - real fast, no planning, just grab a pen and draw.  And use some of my new stamps.

I don't trade ATCs very often.  Mostly because I don't want to stop that onward march toward bigger drawings.  But every now and then I get the urge.  Here are 4 that will be in the mail tomorrow.

   

Another Conversation

Another try at interaction and another conversation.  Copic on 6x8 cardstock. 

Day off - was going for a bike ride but looks like rain so off to get groceries, answer all my comments.  I also heard a rumor that a stationary store in the next town over now has copic pens.  Just might check that out.

Speed Drawing

Tomorrow is postcard day.  I have the day off (personal postcard project).  I'm coloring these 5 at once.  The bright colors will be toned down by blender.  Then another 10 more or so and I'll have the rest of the afternoon off.  Now I really am going to sleep.

Some more pix

  Here's paradise lost.  My patio facing south.  We're surrounded by a golf course (doesn't belong to our developement).  The hurricanes last year took down  the most wonderful ficus tree that gave shade to my patio and plants.  Down came the tree and my plants pretty much expired due to heat exhaustion.  Only plants now are cactus and air plants and few orchids in the corner.  And now, the golf course has been sold for developement - so there goes my view.

And this is my sweet zoe in her favorite sleeping spot which is why it's easy to blind contour draw her.  And I'm off tomorrow so that's why I'm up so late.  But I'm to bed now (actually one more post after this).  See ya tomorrow.

My Studio Plus

Everyone is doing it so here's pix of my studio which is the former sewing room which was the former computer room which was the former 2nd bedroom. 

   

And this is why I live in Florida.  That's a Blue Heron in my parking lot.  And the others are pictures of Dunedin on the Gulf coast.

My Samarjit is copic, cardstock, 6x8.  Lots of color, lifted with lots of blender and new stamp.
