I'm not really fond of this one.  It's sort of flat.  I think the line is ok but there's not feeling in it really.

Updated Post Cards

The first 2 postcards were originally intended as just line drawings but they were sitting there and they really needed color.  The other 2 are new ones.  A few more cards and I'm all caught up.

I would like to get back to drawing and posting everyday.  This week really threw me off.  I still don't have a phone though at least my cell phone works.  My patio screen and windows are being fixed on Friday.  It seems so petty to complain about these inconveniences with all the other horrible things happening this past month.  I really am very lucky.

Postcard Update

I had over 20 requests for postcards and things are running alittle bit behind schedule.  I'll try to get everyone's pcs in the mail by Wednesday. 

Just had breakfeast -eggs, toast and ice tea and then a hot, hot shower.  I think I might actually gain weight from Wilma. It feels so good to be back to normal.

New Drawings

Rather then cleanup, I drew the first one and her name is Shaal.  The poka dot girl is Chippi from FreshFruits.  She was done by flashlight on Thursday.  And I just realized I missed Blind Contour Friday.  I'll just have to do 2 for next week.

Hot shower will have to wait til tomorrow when the water heats up.  I'm so full of energy now I'll probably be up til midnight or just collapse in an hour from sheer exhaustion.  Either way is better then the past week's been.

 

Wilma and Me

Well we survived Wilma with an awful lot of luck.  Been without electricity, water pressure, phone, cell phone, cable of course and no gas for the car.  The power came on about an 1 hr ago still no phone.  My mom is going home tomorrow.  A tornodo tore through her building (the west section, luckily she's in the east building).  The latches on 2 of my windows gave out and the rain and wind made a mess of my studio (2nd bedroom).  I had taken all my electronic stuff and drawings out of the room just in time.  So today I'm busy plugging everything back in and putting everything in place.

Tonight I take a hot shower and maybe do some laundry and eat a real hot meal with ice cold tea.  It's those little pleasures in life that make a difference.  And I'm actually looking forward to going to work on Monday.

Thanks to absolutely everyone who emailed me with their good wishes and concern.  I'll be sending back notes after I get settled. 

Leo at the Window

My front door has a narrow window on the side and the cats like to sit there and watch life go by. I had the shade made about 2 " short from the floor just so the cats could do that.  Well it's pitch dark outside since the parking lot lights went out and there's really nothing much to see.  But here's Leo watching the wind howl.

Wilma -Alpha, Alpha - Wilma

Update 2: It's 6:20AM and I'm certainly happy I decided to get hurricane shutters only it feels like I'm in a sardine can.  The wind is howling out there.  And the lights have been going on and off for the last 1/2 hour as the winds pick up.  Oct in Florida is almost summer.  It's been very hot lately - high 80's to low 90's.  But tonight it supposed to drop to 57.  Now I have dig my blankets out and I don't think I have enough to go around. 57 is freezing for Floridians.

Update 1: Watching the news now and it might be a cat 2 when it gets here Monday around 2am but by Monday afternoon it will be tropical storm.  Mom will be staying with me for a few days.  I'm so happy.

Well we're under a hurricane warning which means I won't have to go to work tomorrow.  I have my priorities in order there.  And now there's Alpha just waiting for Wilma to leave.  New Mexico is looking awfully good right now.

Last year my mom was with me for 3 weeks.  Let me repeat - MY MOM WAS WITH ME FOR 3 WEEKS.  I haven't been the same since.  Here's hoping for just a cat 1 or better yet downgraded to a tropical storm.  And now I'm off to buy more water in case I have company for a few days.

And one more.  The only drawback to drawing larger is that it takes longer.  That's also really a positive because it slows me down and I have to actually think about what I'm doing.  Now I'm going to sleep and try to ignore the tornado warning that just came on the tv.  I do love living in Florida, I do I do oh hell.
