Thanks Kai

Drawing Kai is like drawing Leo.  I couldn't draw cats before Leo got sick and now I can't stop.  It's like a breakthrough, a leap forward and then a plateau for awhile.  Drawing something I not only couldn't draw before but didn't have the confidence to try and draw.  It's like a step program -  inspiration, draw it, eureka! I can draw it, now go draw something eles that's harder.  Sure, why not?  One thing feeds off another untill maybe you can't draw everything you see but you have the confidence to try it which is almost more important.  So maybe these pictures don't look like Kai but they have the feel of him I think. 

And he looks like a baby hobbit with that snuggly wrapped around him.

Blue Kai

Ok, I can draw a baby but it's not that baby.  I'm going to draw Kai (and there's plenty of pictures) until I get the likeness right.  And this hand is better.

Another Kai

This kid is so adorable.  And this paper really sucks.  When I bought it I thought it was my regular 110 lb cardstock but it's 65lb.  It totally sucks up all the ink and the colors come out weird.  So now I have a pack of scrap paper instead of drawing.  Here's Kai.

Sweet Kai

Much sweeter then this drawing.  I haven't drawn babies much and it shows.  And those hands are claws, yuk.  But the pose was fun to try.   Here's the original Kai.

I am sooo tired

No drawing, no work, no sleep.  My mom had outpatient surgery yesterday.  I slept at her place and spent most of the day there and just got home.  Her sleeper couch is the duplicate of Jerry Seinfeld's mother's.  So I slept on an air bed which wasn't much better.  It was just a terrible 2 days and  I just feel wiped out.  Maybe I'll draw tonight.

So many more things to learn, intimidating is the word for it.  But fun too I think.  I've lost too much time, not going to loose any more.
