New Beginnings

Getting ready for tomorrow.  New Itoya portfolios, 48 pages each, labeled and waiting - 12 of the 5"x7" and 6 of the 8 1/2"x11".  No problem filling up the smaller ones.  Those bigger ones are where the stretch will be.  I only filled one this year.  So this is the year of bigger and the year of watercolor.   

Now I'm going to cut up some watercolor paper to fit those books and go sleep.  No New Year's Eve for me.  After riding a bike all afternoon, I can barely move.  That's another thing for next year.  Bike after work, not just on the weekend.

Now you all have the happy and very safe New Years ok?

Liquid watercolors.  I used the art pen, I like how the ink bleeds.

Watercolor practice

My new liquid watercolors.  I like the transparent blotchiness of them.  It takes a little more effort to get that same effect with markers. 

Dedicated to an orange cat with a pink nose who is very much missed.

I'm not very good at planning a composition.  I just sort of let them happen.  I would rather have had the head there but I started with the knees and just ran out of space.

that I'm not in a very good mood.  And Diane Arbus' photos are really strange.

I want this

Wouldn't an Ikea turquoise sofa look nice with my pink dining room chairs and white table?  I wonder if they have a yellow leather chair. 

 

Sweet Zoe

Someone left this note on one of my cat drawings on Flickr "There is something kind of creepy ( from an observational/artistic perspective ) about these tails, in that they exhibit a self similarity ( to one another ) that is decidedly unnatural. ( ??? )"  My response was "huh?"  I think my response made more sense then the note.

What a Beautiful Day

It rained here last night and early this morning.  A steady, light rain and now that the sun is bright orange, everything has a shiny glow to it.

This little one is Rose, I miss having a kitten around.

This is Gert, actively pursuing her favorite pastime.
