I woke up this morning to find Gertie siting on the corner of my bed with blue tape wrapped around her leg and a little smile on her face. She's so cute, trying to make me feel better.

What a marvelous picture! I really enjoy your drawings, and the one of the walker, too. Been there.
Actually, when I had cancer surgery and they took a lot of lymph nodes out of my neck to check for cancer metastasis, our yellow lab would try to lick my neck wound and I would yell at her for trying to suck the blood out of my neck! Canine vampire! She was very hurt and my mother sternly reminded me that dogs often lick their wounds and that this was probably a friendly gesture...being sick just did not bring out the best in me...
