Well there was a slight rethinking after I posted pix of the zine in progress. I made the first one and it was way to thick to fold. 20 watercolor papers plus cover and title pages was just way too much. And too expensive to make.
I want to keep the cost of making them as well as selling them down. My intent is to break even on the expense and share my drawings. Most of the time I give them away so obviously profit isn't one of my main goals here. Of course I wouldn't be adverse to making lots of money doing this but I don't think I have to worry about that happening.
So here's
Zine #4 whose format is like the first 2 small ones. They are 5 1/2" x 4 1/2", printed and then hand colored (each one), cover page is card stock, plus inside title and back page and then sewn down the middle and folded. 20 drawings (19 poultry and one not), colored with crayons and markers. They're $10 each including 1st class postage in the USA and Canada, $3.00 outside the USA . So far I've made 10 which are in my
Etsy shop where several are reserved. The next 10 are for family and friends. If the ones in the shop actually sell, I'll make 10 more. 30 is my limit because I'll be bored out of mind with poultry by then.
Zine #5 is about to start. It's an updated version of
twig and berries. I posted a few awhile ago on Flickr but there are lots more. I even did a flip book, it's buried somewhere in my closet. Haven't decided if I'll redo the flip book or just the drawings.
That's it for now, have to pack up my stuff for the gym tomorrow. Back to pain and agony. Nothing like some healthy exercise.
