Getting used to drawing on an easel. I splurged and bought a small h frame at pearls. The one I borrowed from my friend dbd wasn't stable enough for drawing with a pen. You have to press. I pressed and it moved. This one is pretty sturdy and even has a shelf.
Both of these are from Hans Silvester photos. They're 8 1/2 x 11. Colored with neo art oil pastels. One is on brown kraft paper and the other on off white cardstock. I have some colored pastel papers to try next. I'm always hesitant to use better paper, afraid it won't turn out and I'll have wasted the paper. So I do it on cheap paper, it turns out fine but now it's on cheap paper. Next is the better paper, definitely.
Since I did one for Violet, I had to make Gracie a quilt didn't I? And since my nephew is having a baby in August I thought I should get back into the swing of quilting.
So here's another virtual Gee's Bend by way of Nancy Crow inspired quilt. And I always have lime green and black in my quilts. I love lime green and black makes the quilt pop. A few tassels on the ends and there you have it. I think this weekend I'll start on a real quilt. I hope to do at least 2 by August and then maybe some dolls. First time great aunt so I'm pretty excited.
I post everything I draw or at least everything I draw that I don't junk. When you draw only with a pen it's kind of hard not to junk a few. I think I like a pen because there's no choice. You have to commit. With a pencil, it's I could do this or that or maybe or should I. A pen forces you to make a decision.
For my sheep now farm critter sketchbook. I'm drawing on both sides of the paper. Some of them are colored in markers which sort of ruins the other side so good thing I scan everything.
