Poor Baby

A few months ago I noticed Violet had licked the inside of her front paw raw - right down to the skin.  So she wore a collar for a few weeks and then everything seemed ok.  Then last week, as I watched her licking her inside rear leg I saw pink.  She'd licked down the skin again.  Then watched her and she just was licking everything, obsessively.  

So back with the collar and on to vet.  She's taking Atopica once a day.  Vet says it's not approved for dogs in the USA but it's used in Canada and she has over a dozen pets on it and it works great. This is the 3rd day and she's still licking.  Hopefully it will take effect in the next few days.  The vet said that the licking is a behavior problem now.  Once it works, we can lessen how often it's given.  I sure hope so.  This stuff costs $51 for 2 weeks.  That's over a $100 a month.  If it doesn't work, then we might try steriods which isn't a good thing.  Either way, she can't live in a collar forever.  

And Violet being Violet, this hasn't put a crimp on her activities.  She still flies over the bed when I throw her little ball.  

Dancing Fools

I knew I shouldn't have let them have all that halloween loot. They'll be up all night. Gracie loves dancing to Debussey. Violet's more Pet Sounds.

Puppy Love Zine to be

I think I'll do maybe 30 or so drawings to choose from.  There's 20 so far but I won't post them all.  Zine process - I print out 2 to a page, then make copies using the same paper I use for drawing, color with probably water soluable crayons, have them cut at Kinkos, staple and then on to Etsy.  Crayons instead of markers because I used up so many of my markers coloring in so many copies.

Sleepy Violet

Violet is sound sleeper.  When she gets up on the bed at night, that's it.  She doesn't move.   Gracie is all over the place.  So Violet is easier to draw.  If I want another pose I just tickle her toe a little and she moves and I have another drawing.

The Drawer of the Forgotten

Where drawings I don't like enough to post but can't part with go. I go through them every now and then and resurrect some drawings. Most stay here until the drawer fills up and I have to junk some.

Kitty Time

It's Halloween time

We went to the Halloween store today to try on some costumes.  Violet wasn't too happy with the banana but Gracie loves the strawberry.

I think Violet will pass up on the tootsie roll. 

These are not colored because I'm working on a kittie zine.  I color them after they're copied.
