Better Days

These cubes all stick together and it's Violet's favorite place to play catch.  She runs behind this thing, I throw the ball and she jumps up and lands right in the middle of it.  She loves it.  Me too.

Violet, my problem child

She likes to sleep next to the cable box.  Of course this means I can't change the channel until she moves.  Can't move a sleeping cat.  It's a rule and bad karma too but you knew that right?

 

That hood doesn't stop her.  But it does rub against the ceiling popcorn.  Gets it all over the floor.  Removing it when I paint the apt next year.

Jupiter Lighthouse

Did you know that every lighthouse lamp has it's own unique light pattern?  Ships have lists of each lighthouse and can tell by the light patterns which one it is.   The lighthouse is 150 yrs old and is being renovated so no tour until next year.  Beautiful all the same.

This is a Banyon and they're pretty common in Florida but aren't native.  They're from India and after any hurricane we're really not happy they migrated.  

This is all one tree and those roots go down deep and wrap around pipes.  A good hurricane wind will topple that tree and all it's roots pull up the sidewalk and the pipes and it's one big mess.  This one is as old as the lighthouse.

A thrifting I did go

and am I ever happy.  This is an old wire plant rack.  It weighs a ton. It took three people to get it in the back of my suv.  I originally had a small plant stand there (another great find).  This one I got for my friend dbd who decided she really couldn't use it.  So I replaced the smaller rack with this in the apt entrance hall.  It was painted blue but the paint is worn but I like that look.  

The lady wanted $12, I offered $5 she took $8 and then she and 2 other shoppers put it in my trunk because I couldn't move it.  And those are 2 of my paint by numbers paintings.  I have a closet full. The others will go in the bedroom eventually.  These 2 have the same color blue so they're perfect on the rack.

Poor Baby

or little twit depending on whose paying the vet bills.  Violet's been in a collar for 3 weeks now and on 3 different meds.  Still she licks.  So off the Vet Dermatologist.  Yes they they have those.  He thinks that it's allergies.  

So one more month in the collar so the meds are out of her system and then for allergy tests.  You know the kind where they stick your arm full of needles.  Well for little cats it's the belly so they have to put her to sleep to do it. 

And then it's $200-400 for a 5 month supply of the allergy stull and that doesn't include the needles and syringes.  And that's the estimate for 5 months supply depending on if it's 1 or 2 shots a week that I have to give her.  Why 5 months?  Because 6 months estimate would cause even bigger sticker shock.  And if she doesn't outgrow it, it's for the rest of her life.

This cat is soo lucky she's cute.  Ok it doesn't really matter if she's cute or not.  I love her and I'll take care of her no matter what.
