Summer's here

It's Florida. Summer showed up in April. And I dropped the girls off at Old Navy to pick out their bathing suits. Gracie, that's such a good outfit, love those board shorts. Violet, how about we give it one more try.

Imperfections

It's been a busy few days.  Did the world end?  I haven't been watching the news.

Outside the lines

My mom told me that my aunt Sylvie died last night.  She was 78 and my father's younger sister.  I don't have the kind of family that stays in touch so I haven't seen her since my dad died 10 years ago.  She lived near us when I was growing up but we didn't see much of her or my cousins.  My mom said she had hard time, different husbands, kids with different fathers.  It made my parents uncomfortable. But I remember that every time I saw her, she was happy to see me.  And that's a good memory.

Now I think my aunt Sylvie just lived her life outside the lines.   And she was always happy to see me.  So I dedicate coloring outside the lines to my aunt Sylvie.

My gosh!

West Coast Jane posted an interview with me on the Sketchbook Challenge blog.  Jane is without doubt one of my favorite artists.  She sews, she quilts, she draws, she teaches.  In can't imagine where she gets all that energy.  So here's a very big thank you to Jane and the Sketchbook blog and to every one who left a comment or purchased my artwork.
