Just a little. The last few weeks have a bit trying which is why I haven't been posting. It started as an earache, then headache and a painful to touch scalp. It's happened before but went away within a day or 2. I just blamed it on earaches. This time it didn't go away. My dr was away so I went to an ENT. After a brief exam he said it looks like inflammation of the carotid artery. Nothing to do with an earache. Here's prednisone. Is it dangerous? No. Should I come back. No. I went home and googled it which promptly panicked me.
2 days later I spoke to the my dr who said what test did the ENT do? None. None? Nope. Blood work? No. CT? No. Ok. Well it sounds like an inflammation of the temporal artery. Let's get you in for some tests. So of course I googled that and it was worse since it can cause blindness and stroke. Called the dr back and saw her the next day. She spoke to the ENT and even though she did think some tests should have been done before the prednisone she didn't think it was dangerous. So now I'm taking aleve for the inflammation, I see the eye dr on Monday to make sure there's no damage to my eyesight and then a CT scan.
I'm still a bit peeved at that ENT. He really was bored with me a guess. I told him it happened before but just here's the prescription but don't bother coming back. At least my dr is following up. So for now, back to drawing.
Don't panic - it's probably nothing. My thoughts are with you. Keep drawing - it will help you through. :)

I love your drawings, they're whimsical and dramatic at the same time, very cool!

geez. sorry you're going through this pain and aggravation! You're seeing the doctor today? make a list, and tell her/him everything. Tell your concerns, your symptoms. Even date the list and give them a copy. you gotta be your own advocate.....
hope they don't find anything wrong with you that a good day of drawing won't fix..

Oh janey, I wondered where you'd gone. I'm glad you're in good hands and hope all goes well with you. Try not to worry too much about it and like jane said, keep a record of your symptoms for the doc. I had something similar a few years ago---a full-blown carotid artery dissection, which was as dangerous as it sounds except that I didn't know that at the time---but once the episode passed, that was that, and the treatment was simple: aspirin for a year while the thing healed.
